Plan A Dinosaurs Party

Plan A Dinosaurs Party for the child that loves everything about dinosaurs. They will enjoy a theme party with those prehistoric dinosaur creatures as the main attraction. Have the guests come in cave man costumes or their favorite dinosaur.

Turn your party room into a cave and cover the walls in brown wrapping paper or old paper bags. Draw some cave paintings on the walls. If you don’t want to wrap your room in brown paper, place large removable dinosaur wall decorations and giant wall decals on the walls.

When guests arrive have them follow the large dinosaur foot prints to the party room.

Entertainment:

The entertainment is usually the main part of the party such as a magician or juggler. Games and craft projects are also part of the entertainment. Think about old traditional games that children play and see how you can change the game to suit a dinosaur party.

* Hide dinosaur eggs around the house for the children to hunt.. It’s very much like an Easter egg hunt except you are hunting for dinosaur eggs.

* Instead of Pin The Tail On The Donkey you can play Pin The Tail On The Dinosaur.

* Purchase or make homemade play dough for the children to create their own dinosaur. Have several plastic dinosaurs for them to study and use as models.

* Have a dinosaur or cave drawing contest.

* Have a contest and prize for the best costumes.

* Rent a dinosaur movie or watch a Fred Flintstones movie.

* Play Archaeologists’ Dig and fill a long window flower box or big tub like the one used for bobbing for apples with sand or plastic peanuts. Bury small colorful dinosaurs in the box or tub. Blind fold each child when it is their turn. Have them pretend they are archaeologists searching for dinosaurs. When a child has found two dinosaurs then it is the next archaeologists turn.

* Purchase dinosaur transfers that the children can color with crayons. You can then iron these transfers onto a tee shirt for them to take home. This project will be a lot of fun for the children and make a nice take home gift.

Dinosaurs Applique Activity

* Another fun craft activity would be for each child to paint a bobble head dinosaur for a take home gift.

Refreshments:

* Serve cave man food – food that you can eat with your hands. Chicken drum sticks, barbecued ribs, sandwiches and pizza.

* Make dinosaur sandwiches and dinosaur cookies and use a cookie cutter to make the dinosaur ship. Here’s a 5″ metal cookie cutter of a Stegosaurus dinosaur.

* Serve volcano punch – a fruit punch with scoops of sherbet and cold soda pop poured over the top. The cold soda will make the sherbet fizz which creates a volcanic effect.

* For most children the birthday cake and blowing out the candles is a major part of the party. So, why not make a dinosaur birthday cake. It won’t be difficult when you use a dinosaur cake pan.
