How To Plan A Princess Birthday Party
How To Plan A Princess Birthday Party by breaking it down into four separate parts; the Opening Activity, the Entertainment, the Refreshments and the Closing Activity.
Birthday parties are important and planning a princess birthday party doesn’t need to be overwhelming. For the birthday girl there is no better way to show that she is loved then to have friends and family members celebrate the day she was born.
Ask your daughter what she wants to do for her princess party. The party will mean more to her if she has helped make some of the decisions. By including your daughter in the party plans you validate her and make her feel good about herself. That is what a princess birthday party is for, having fun, feeling good about herself and celebrating an important event in her life.

The first step is to do some brainstorming with your daughter and make a plan for the party. Take out a pen and sheet of paper to record all your ideas. You can eliminate and cut down your list later, but for now put every idea that comes to you down on the paper. From your brainstorming list you will be able to create a shopping list and a time line for when things need to be accomplished.
Make A Guest List:
What children do you plan on inviting? How many?
You may find the idea of entertaining a group of young girls for several hours quite daunting. Don’t despair! Break the party down into 4 separate parts, an opening activity, the entertainment, the refreshments and closing activity.
Opening Activity:
Each girl could decorate her own cone princess hat to wear during the party. Make the cone shapes before the party and add ribbons and streamers to the top once they are decorated.
If you think the girls would prefer a crown to wear instead of the cone shape princess head adornment. Just click here for instructions on

Making a princess wand or scepter would also be a good craft activity. Have aluminum foil stars on sticks ready for the girls to decorate.
If you would like to make a wand that will match the Cinderella Crown you can download the template here: Cinderella’s Wand
Entertainment:
The entertainment is usually the main part of the party. It may be a special person, such as a magician or juggler. Entertainment could also be games, craft projects or both.
Look at some of the old traditional games that children play for ways that you can adapt and change them for a princess birthday party. For instance the game Mother May I can be changed to Princess May I.
The Princess Story Party Game takes the form of a story that each girl creates and no two will be the same. This activity will bring out the giggles and laughter. Click here for the The Princess Story Party Game.
Refreshments:
Refreshments can be simply, a complete meal or just the birthday cake with a beverage. Some children will eat fast and others won’t want to eat at all.
For most children the presentation of the birthday cake, helping blow out the candles and singing Happy Birthday is exciting. Having cake and a beverage won’t take long.
The birthday cake can be in the shape of a princess or a castle.
Closing Activity:
The closing activity is a way of saying the birthday party is over and it’s time to go home. This may be a good time to pass out the party favors, the door prize, awards and prizes for winning games.
One or all three of the Princess Paper Dolls will make very nice party favors and take home gifts. You can take a look at each of the paper dolls here:

Decorations:
Decorations can be as simple or as elaborate as you wish. Use lots of pastel pink, lavender, and purple in the form of crepe paper, curling ribbon and balloons.
Matching and complementary colored plates, cups, napkins and table cloth always adds a nice touch. If you need some ideas and suggestions for decorations take a look at Disney Princess Party Supplies.
