How To Make Snow White Apple Cupcakes

Snow White and The Seven Dwarves is a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. The story is about a good Queen wishing for a baby, “Oh, how I wish that I had a daughter that had skin white as snow, lips red as blood and hair black as ebony” Then there is an evil Queen that is so jealous of Snow White that she attempts to kill her with a poisoned apple.

Well, we know the evil Queens’s plan didn’t work. To celebrate Anne is going to show you how to make Snow White apple cupcakes.

What’s more delicious than a red, ripe, juicy apple? An apple look alike! These cupcakes are easy to whip up and a great addition to any Snow White themed party.

Hands-On Time: 15 minutes
Ready In: 35 minutes
Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients:

* 1 boxed yellow cake mix
* apple juice – as needed
* 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
* 2 cups white icing
* red food coloring – as needed
* 6 cinnamon sticks – each cut in half
* 6 candy spearmint leaves – cut in half horizontally

Directions:

1. Prepare cake mix using apple juice in place of water and adding cinnamon.

2. Bake in 12 muffin cups as directed.

3. While cupcakes are baking, tint icing with red food coloring so it is the color of ripe apples.

4. Frost cupcakes and push a cinnamon stick in the center of each, sticking out slightly so it looks like an apple stem. Add a candy spearmint ‘leaf’ to each.
