How To Make A Jeweled Headband

How To Make A Jeweled Headband By Cindy Littlefield
When Aladdin first met Jasmine in the marketplace, he had no way of knowing she was the Sultan’s daughter because her tiara was hidden under the hooded disguise she wore. Later, after he’d learned her identity and they were riding on his magic carpet together, he presented her with a delicate flower that she wore in her hair. This jeweled stretchy headband features a button-on blossom that looks just like the one Prince Ali picked for his princess.
You’ll need:
* Turquoise felt oval (1 1/2 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches tall)
* Yellow felt oval (slightly larger than the yellow oval)
* Needle and thread
* Turquoise stretchy cloth headband
* Turquoise acrylic gem (sold in craft stores and large department stores)
* Tacky glue
* Yellow button
* White felt (3-inch square)
Instructions:
1. Center the turquoise felt oval atop the yellow one. Then sew them to the very top of headband with a few quick stitches. Then glue the plastic gem to the center of the felt, covering the thread.
2. Sew the button onto the headband, positioning it an inch or so from the gem.
3. Cut a five-petal flower from the white felt square. Snip a slit (the same length as the width of the button) in the center of the flower. Slip the button through the slit to hold the blossom in place and the headband is ready to wear.
