Football Season Is Over Party
Yes, Football Season Is Over! Whether it was a winning season for your team or not, it is always a disappointment and a letdown when the football season is finally over. The Super Bowl in February marks the end of football season.
On February 20, 2005, Hunter S. Thompson took his own life using his .45 caliber pistol with a gunshot in his mouth. He left a note written in black marker titled “Football Season Is Over”.
“No More Games. No More Bombs. No More Walking. No More Fun. No More Swimming 67. That is 17 years past 50. 17 more than I needed or wanted. Boring. I am always bitchy. No Fun — for anybody. 67. You are getting Greedy. Act your old age. Relax — This won’t hurt.”
Who was Hunter S. Thompson? He was an American journalist, author and most famous for his novel Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas. Thompson is credited with creating Gonzo journalism, a style of writing that blends factual and personal idiosyncratic or biased opinion.
True Hunter S. Thompson had other problems, his health was failing, he was in physical pain from hip surgery and he was depressed. So, the ending of football season can’t be blamed for his suicide.
Yes, Football Season Is Over! Why not perk up the football fans with a little end of season celebration. Get the team together for some bonding and reflection.
Lets Have A Party!
Invitations:
Cut out football shapes from construction paper or a brown paper bag – any material that would be suitable. Write all the essential party details on your football invitation and mail them to the team.
Dress Code:
Team gear. Everyone needs to wear their teams, shirt, hat or whatever team attire they usually wear for a game.
Decorations:
Balloons, crepe paper and curling ribbon all in your teams colors. Balloons are very colorful, versatile and make decorating a party easy. Attach curling ribbon to balloons. A dozen or so balloons with colorful curling ribbon flowing down from the ceiling on to the table and floor creates an amazing site. Use crepe paper streamers to splash some color around the party room.
